Amstaff is short for the American Staffordshire terrier, a medium-sized dog whose origins are in England. In the early part of the 20th century it was accepted by the American Kennel Club as the American Staffordshire terrier. Not to be confused with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. In England it is used for guarding, fighting and as a pet.

This breed is based on the breeds White terrier, Fox terrier and Black Terrier. The biggest differences from these breeds are color and aggressiveness. They began to find their way to America as early as 1870 where at first they became known as the Pit dog and Pit Bull Terrier, then as the American Bull Terrier and later the Yankee Terrier.

The name of the breed was revised on 1.01.1972 to the American Staffordshire Terrier to distinguish it from its relative in England.

Amstaff Food

The diet of an Amstaff terrier is different from that of a normal dog. To develop your muscles, you need to eat protein-rich foods. Many dogs suffer from allergies and skin problems. Turkey meat is recommended. Eggs with a shell 2 to 5 times a week.

Amstaff Appearance

The Amstaff is an extremely strong dog for its size. Bundles of muscles are seen with free cohia. The head is large, powerful, muzzle of medium length rounded at the top. The eyes are round dark in color.
