Arrhinoceratops | Discover Fascinating Facts and Information About Arrhinoceratops
His name meant" dinosaur without a horn on his nose " and even alluded to the fact that this dinosaur did not present this Horn in front of his eyes. However, this is misleading because the animal had a small stump above its nose, which could be considered a small horn.

Facts
Arrhinoceratops was named after a dinosaur discovered in Alberta, Canada, in 1925 by canadian paleontologist William Arthur Parks. This prehistoric animal lived in the Mesozoic era, in the Upper Cretaceous, about 72 million years ago.
The explanation was found in the fact that the name of this dinosaur was given after the analysis of a specimen discovered at the beginning, which suffered in time an unsuccessful fossilization and did not present this Horn. Although it was later found that this nasal bone existed, no researcher changed its name. It was concluded that the first name must be preserved, although the existence of the tiny bone on the nose was confirmed. The dinosaur Arrhinoceratops had a massive body, paleontologists estimated its length as about 6 m and weight of 2 tons. Compared to the size of the body and the head was sturdy. On the forehead it shows two long, large, curved horns, pointing forward and positioned just above the eyes.
Impressive was the massive collar, with two oval windows, covered by thick leather, which majestically flaunts behind the head towards the back and which resembles a real shield, provided on the edges with some bony horns, curved and sharp, distributed in an orderly manner. The limbs of this dinosaur were huge, muscular, ending with strong fingers provided with thick, hard nails.
The gait of this animal was on all four limbs, and the tail was long, very thick, only with a thin tip. The eyes were large, the nostrils protruding, and the muzzle ended with a sharp beak, perfectly adapted for catching and tearing plants.
When they felt in danger they were very united, defending themselves by standing in groups in the herd, to more easily counteract the attacks of predatory dinosaurs. The females formed a circle around the young to protect them, and the males took a frontal position towards the predator and used their horns to easily pierce its abdomen or neck.
