Origin
The Basset Bleu de Gascogne is a utilitarian dog, included in the group of dogs used for hunting, but also as pets.
The origins of this breed, created through numerous crossbreeds, are very controversial.
The current form of the breed was achieved through the contribution of Griffons and Gascogne Blue breeds, at the beginning of the last century, by a French breeder , and was specialized both on hunting rabbits and deer, as well as feather game.
Throughout its evolution, this dog has been constant both in terms of morphological improvement and the preservation of its qualities, so-called "Midi dog".
It is also called The King of Hounds.
Basset de Gascogne
To avoid health problems caused by eating, such as stomach problems, it is best to feed the animal at regular intervals. Avoid corn, which is not recommended for dogs, and foods that cause gas.
Never suddenly and completely replace one type of food with another, as unpleasant reactions will be triggered.
Such a phenomenon is normal, considering that the body adapts slowly and gradually to a certain food formula and remains dependent for a longer or shorter period of time on its specificity, through interdependent processes that are triggered in the broader context of digestion.
The quality of the food is reflected in the vitamins, minerals consumed as well as the proteins that most dogs get from different types of meat.
The amount of food varies from individual to individual, it varies according to age or level of activity. Take into account fatty acids. The Gascogne Basset is a dog prone to obesity.
Do not forget to offer him fresh water at his discretion to quench his thirst.
