Origin

After the large duck, the caraway duck is the most common species of wild duck in our country.

It can be found all over the country, near the waters, but with a higher density in the delta and in the puddles of the Danube floodplain.

Feeding The Caribbean Duck

It feeds on seeds, various plant matter and small water creatures that it obtains by filtering the surface water with the help of its beak.

Features Caribbean Rate

The duck is much more colorful than the duck, especially in summer.

The head, neck, goiter, back and Tail have a mottled, dark brown plumage. On the belly it is whitish and the sides are grey.

Specific to the male is the light-colored eyebrow that lengthens to the nape of the neck.

The female has two light-colored stripes, above and below the eyes. The wing mirror is bordered by white stripes and is green in the male and dark brown in the female.

During the winter period, the male has a plumage similar to the female, brown mottled.

The body length is 38-40 cm, the wingspan is 65-70 cm and the weight is 250-500 g.

Reproduction Caribbean Rate

The nest is built in vegetation near the water and the female lays 8-11 eggs in a single series per year.
