It is a voracious species consuming mostly crickets, cockroaches, mealworms, superworms, grasshoppers. The food offered should not exceed the size of the tarantula's abdomen. Between 3-5 crickets can be offered per week for adults.Features Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens
Greenbottle blue is one of the most beautiful tarantulas in the world, at maturity it has blue legs, metallic green cephalothoracs and orange abdomen. Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens is a terrestrial species, fast and often prefers to retreat rather than attack. It can rarely be defensive taking the attacking position. He has hives on his abdomen. Dimensions at maturity: 12 cm males, and females can reach the size of 15 – 16 cm legspan. The growth rate of this species is average.
Terrarium
For specimens that have reached maturity is recommended a terrarium of 30x30x25(Lxlxh) or an aquarium of 20 (for those who prefer aquariums as terrariums). You can use coconut or peat as a substrate that under no circumstances should be wet. The substrate should be kept dry and can be moistened very little and very rarely(once/week) in the case of adults. A medium pot of water can be added and dry sticks can be added to the terrarium that will help the tarantula in building the stucco from the canvas. Temperature: 26-31grC . It can withstand temperature drops up to 18grc for short intervals.
This species does not require a high level of humidity because it comes from very warm areas with dry forests. It is recommended that the humidity be kept somewhere between 40-60% in the case of adults and juveniles and 70% in the case of chickens. in the natural habitat these tarantulas live at the base of trees or bushes building galleries from canvas. Hygiene: in general, in specimens that have passed the chicken stage, there will be food leftovers in the corners of the terrarium(usually in water dishes) that must be removed as quickly as possible to avoid the appearance of mites and mold. if mites are detected, the substrate must be replaced and the entire terrarium washed with water. if you have to destroy the tarantula's nest made of cloth to remove the remains of food, it will soon build another or remodel the damaged one.
Excess moisture can damage the tarantula and even bring its death !
Venom
All species of tarantulas possess venom. Although it is not very potent, bites are never placute.De like any species of tarantula and Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens can be unpredictable and a bite can occur at any time. For these reasons we recommend maximum attention when the tarantula is fed, moved or when its terrarium is cleaned.
It is not recommended to handle tarantulas.
Reproduction Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens
This species breeds quite hard in captivity. The male is smaller and more skittish than the female, and the female is more aggressive.
