Ciocarlia, (some call it ciocirlia) is part of the large family of larks Alaudidae, order Passeriformes. There are over 90 species of small and medium size.
It is a migratory songbird present in our country from April to autumn. Her arrival signifies the establishment of definitive spring in those places that year.
Because of her habit of rising into the air and singing in the sky, many legends have been written about the lark, being considered the daughter of the sun or the girl who fell in love with the sun. It flies at high altitude and the flight is straight or in wavy lines.
