Origin

The French BRAC can be recognized under the names: Brac De Bourbonnais, Bourbonnais Pointer, Bourbonnais Pointing dog, French Ponting dog, French pointer or French brac.

The French BRAC has its origins in south-western France and the Central Pyrenees. It is one of the oldest French pointer breeds, dating back to the seventeenth century. There are two types: Gascogne and Pyrenean.

The Pyrenean type, lighter and slimmer, is more popular and is considered to be closer to the original French BRAC.

French Brac Food

A dog's food should be adapted to its age and waist. It must contain the vitamins and minerals that a dog needs. A proper food must contain both vegetables and various animal products.

Each breed has a banlanta of minerals, vitamins, salts and fats that the owner needs to know about. It is best to avoid foods that contain dyes and chemicals and some of the commercially sourced food.

There is a theory that any hunting dog should have fresh raw meat on the menu, preferably game meat.

It is a dog without great demands so it consumes without problems the proteins from rabbit, turkey, chicken, pig, or other animals. Water should be at your discretion to drink when thirsty.

All dogs are not allowed chocolate, ice cream or other similar sweets, for them chocolate, which can eat some more and others less, is toxic. 2-3 meals a day are recommended.

Features French Brac

They do best with an active family that enjoys long outings in nature.

I recommend it strictly hunters because it needs a lot of space to run and does not adapt to Apartment Life, needs this kind of activity to manifest hunting instincts, under no circumstances do not recommend it beginners.

The owner must be firm and have experience in raising dogs, I recommend as many exercises together as possible and do not bind him during the day because he suffers a lot.

This breed needs a lot of attention that it will reward with love.
