Goldfish Pearlscale

Origin

The Golden pearlscale crucian or chinshurin as it is called in Japanese is an almost spherical fish that resembles the veil-tailed crucian.
It is also known as pearlscale ping-pong. It is a relatively new species, having been known since the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Characteristic of this fish are thick scales of round shape with pearly appearance. The body is round similar to a golf ball. It can reach 8 cm in length and in good conditions grows as large as an orange. As a colorist it is good to know that they can be found in any variety of colors.
Due to its body shape and the fact that it is a relatively new species of fish it is prone to body disorders that can lead to the inability to maintain its normal position in the water.
This is due to the selective breeding process of crucian carp to obtain new species and body shapes, such as that of the Golden pearlscale crucian.
Pearlscale is very sensitive to low water temperatures. Very low temperatures below 13gr. It's affecting his health. They are also sensitive if the ph of the water varies. They should not be exposed to acidic water or an alkaline environment for a long time.
- The scales should be round and slightly bulging
- The dorsal fin must be single, all other flippers being pairs

Breeding Goldfish Pearlscale

The reproduction of pearlscale crucian carp is almost the same as the reproduction of any Golden crucian. Some breeders say that both the female and the male can sometimes be left without some of the scales during breeding.
Keep the male separate from the female until they are ready to mate. Mating can take place in the same aquarium with other fish or in a separate Aquarium of preference of at least 70 lists.
In the wild, the mating season begins in the spring with the warming of the water. A higher water temperature will stimulate mating conditions for pearlscale crucian carp.
Pay attention to the behavior of Pisces. When mating time comes, the male will run the female in the aquarium for several hours until he manages to "rub" his belly against that of the female. During this period he will lay his eggs. A female can lay 2,000 eggs at one gestation.
Remove the male and female from the water after the eggs have been laid. If you have adult fish in the aquarium they will eat the eggs. Normally the eggs will hatch after about a week.
