Temperament: affectionate, playful, intelligent
The Himalayan cat appeared as a result of crossing between the Persian and Siamese breeds in 1930.
It was recognized in the U.S. only in 1957. It is one of the most popular cats with long fur.
It is called the Himalayan cat because of its resemblance to the himalayan rabbit and other animals of the Himalayan mountains.

Appearance Himalayan cat
It has medium-large size, long and rounded body and short tail.
From the Persian cat took small ears, large and round eyes, a small nose and a sweet expression. Its long and beautiful coat comes in blue, chocolate, lilac, cream and several other variations.
The legs are short, which is why they do not jump as high as other cats. Females are slightly smaller than males.
There are two types of kittens: the one with the normal face and the one with the "flattened"face. It is assumed that the latter are more exposed to diseases.
Behavior Himalayan cat
It is not a very active cat that always has energy to consume. He'd rather sit in an armchair than climb on furniture.
Not being very active tolerates children, but for short periods. She doesn't like being run any more than she wants to.
It is intelligent and can be trained relatively easily. Not the most talkative cat, but not very quiet. Her voice is pleasant.
Features Himalayan cat
Long fur needs daily brushing to avoid tangling and removing dead hair. The color of the coat darkens with advancing age.
It is possible to make spots on the eyes due to lacrimation. In the morning or when it is brushed it is good to be wiped on the face.
If the food is left to his discretion, take care of the weight because he can gain weight if he does not exercise enough.
There's no point in cutting it. If you want a short-haired cat, you can buy a Siamese cat.
Do not forget about vaccinations, deworming (internal and external), nail cutting and ear cleaning.
At birth the kittens are completely white. The color appears after the first few weeks.
Diseases Himalayan cat
The Himalayan cat is healthy.
From crossing with Persian he inherited a kidney disease (PKD), but with a low frequency.
The bath is recommended to reduce the oil on the fur and eliminate dead hair.
Life expectancy is 15 years. She can live longer if she is properly cared for.
