Origin

Ainu or Hokkaido is the oldest dog breed in Japan, declared in 1937 in its country of origin as a natural monument.

This dog was named after the Ainu tribe on the island of Hokkaido in Japan.

Hokkaido Food

This breed consumes at maturity about 200-300 grams of food. It should be fresh and contain protein that gives your dog energy. Being a dog that has hunted in the past some breeders recommend raw meat.

It is good to diversify the food so you can give the animal various types of meat: beef, turkey, game, etc.besides meat the best food is homemade. Many choose store-bought food to save time. Keep in mind that a dog does not have an organism similar to that of a man, this means that he needs a separate diet.

Even though he consumes almost all the fruits and vegetables that man consumes, there are some foods that are not recommended. In general, these foods are the ones that cause bloating or loose stools. Here we can include chocolate or sweets. In addition to food, the dog needs fresh water at its discretion to quench its thirst. To establish a diet as good as possible your dog is good to consult a veterinarian to see if the animal suffers from any allergies.
