Origin
It is the result of crossing the Old English black and Tan Terrier with the Bedlington terrier.
Through various selections the current breed has been obtained in the Lake area of England from where its name comes.
It was used in fox hunting and in packs of chasing dogs and for harassing large hunters. It is little known outside England and Ireland.
Feeding Lakeland Terrier
Part of the food that a Lakeland Terrier is: chicken, turkey, beef, game, fish, fresh vegetables and fruits, etc.

Appearance Lakeland Terrier
It is a small dog, brisk, robust, with a square appearance and narrow body.
The head is flat, long with a broad, straight snout, equal in length to the skull and covered with long and frequent hair forming a beard and whiskers. The eyes are small, oval, dark brown in color.
The ears are V-shaped, small and folded in front. The tail is cut and worn high.
The coat is double with a soft and fine first coat and a rough, thick outer coat of medium length, very often and waterproof.
The color can be black, reddish, bluish, red, golden, brownish with or without spots.
Behavior Lakeland Terrier
It is a lively, Hardy, sporty, cheerful, active, alert, courageous and self-confident dog.
Tender, affectionate and devoted to the master, gets along well with children, is suspicious but not aggressive with strangers.
He gets along well with other dogs, accepts other animals in the house if he has been socialized with them since childhood.
