Origin

Most of the islands are mountainous, with active volcanoes and pleasant humid climates.

Molucan Parrot Food

Characteristics Molucan Parrot

Molucan Parrot Breeding

The molucan cockatoo parrot mates only once a year, usually between December and March when vegetation appears and there is more food.

During courtship the male ruffles his feathers, spreads his wings and raises his crest. At first the female avoids or ignores him, but he does not give up and approaches her more and more.

As soon as the male has managed to attract the female you can see the gestures of love between the two. They will start to pigeonhole each other. These signs of affection strengthen the bond between the two.

Courtship lasts longer in younger pairs who are just starting out and less in experienced ones.

After courtship and mating the female will lay eggs in a nest in the hollow of a tree. Usually pairs are chosen for life. In captivity if you separate them they will go into depression and suffer. I can hardly accept another partner.
