Origin
The Oriental cat is also called the "rainbow cat" because it is available in over 300 colors.
The breed was created in the 1950s – 1960s in Great Britain by mating the following breeds: Siamese, Shorthair, Russian Blue and Abyssinian. In the 70s it was stabilized in the U.S.
There are currently two types of Oriental cats: the Oriental short-haired cat and the Oriental long-haired cat.
