Origin
Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a breed of dog around which many theories circulate regarding the period of its appearance and especially the origin. Many experts believe that this breed dates back to The X century.
One theory about its origin is that the ancestors of this breed were brought to Wales by the Flemings. Another theory would support the fact that this breed is descended from the Swedish Valhund.
The fact is that the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a dog developed in Wales where it was used to guard and guide flocks of live animals and even to be a companion to man.
There are obvious similarities between Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and these breeds have even been crossed in the past, but nevertheless they are different.
Records have been found that the Welsh Pembroke corgi has existed in Britain since at least 920 AD. They were supposedly brought from Wales. They were very popular between the 14th and 18th centuries. The Pembroke Corgi became a distinct breed in the UK in 1934.
The Pembroke Corgi is one of the most intelligent herd dogs. It is the favorite breed of dog of Queen Elizabeth II that has had many copies over the years. In 2011 it was the 25th most popular dog.
Both breeds were recognized by The Kennel Club in 1934.
Feeding Pembroke Corgi
Corgi is looking forward to mealtime. He likes to mamance and has a tendency to gain weight if he is fed too much food. Food in general should be rich in vitamins and minerals. Do not forget that in winter you need to supplement its portion of food because the animal consumes more energy to warm up.
I personally recommend homemade food, but those who do not have time can opt for Petshop food.
The daily food ration should be divided into at least two meals, morning and evening. After meals, the dog should be allowed to digest for 15-30 minutes, then it can resume its activity. Fresh water should be at your discretion.
The dog will drink especially after exertion, after going outside, etc.do not forget that chocolate especially, and sweets (ice cream, candy, cakes) is not allowed. Even if they like it, they harm dogs and can get sick.
If you want to change the menu it is good to do it gradually in 2-3 days for the stomach to get used to the new menu. So gradually reduce the old menu, and introduce the new one. The amount of nutrients (and the amount of food in general) should be the same. Do not forget, corgi dogs are prone to obesity.
Meat should be the main ingredient due to protein intake, and vegetables in second place. A specialist site recommends 50% of the meal should contain animal protein, 15-20% fat and 20% carbohydrates.

The risk of scaring sheep is low. He's not loud, but he barks when he has to. The level of aggression is low, it is a peaceful dog, hence the high compatibility for children. He is obedient and loyal to the family he belongs to.
Dressage Pembroke Corgi
It requires socialization, training and activities. This breed is easily trained due to its availability to learn.
In general, he does not get too far from his master, but he feels the need for a lot of movement, so it is good to train him in various work, agility courses, etc.
