Origin

It is a very rare breed. In the world there are around 5,000 copies of which 2,000 in North America alone.

They can also be found in larger numbers in several countries in Europe, Russia, South Africa or Japan.

It was recognized as a breed by The Cat Fanciers’ Association in 1982.

The success of the breed in the U.S. has drawn more attention to the specimens in Singapore. Known locally as the Kucinta, the Singapura breed has become a national symbol in Singapore and has been used to promote the country to potential tourists.

Singapura Cat Appearance

Singapura is the smallest cat in the world. He has the smallest body, but a muscular and strong one. The eyes are large and beautiful with shades of yellow and green.

The coat is short and beige in color. On the belly it is lighter, and on the back darker.

Their small bodies, round faces and large features create a kitten-like appearance.

Maturity is reached at the age of 2 years.

Singapura Cat Behavior

They like to be the center of attention. She gets into whatever you do to make sure she's in the spotlight.

They are "talkative" and like to meow. Their voice is warm and pleasant.

They are sociable with everyone because they like to be in the middle of attention. When they rest they do it at a height climbing as high as possible to observe everything from the height.

They love to play and would do that all the time. You must be careful not to hit them when moving around the House.

Most Singapura cats are not confrontational or aggressive, even males are not aggressive.

They get along well with children and other animals if they socialize from a young age. If you are away from home for many hours or days, it is good to have at least two cats to have company.

Features Singapura Cat

Singapura is the smallest cat. It loves warmth and you can often find it lying in the sun, on sheets or on materials that keep warm or give off heat (sofas, armchairs, laptop, radiator, etc.)

Short fur makes the cat easy to care for. A few brushes a month are enough.

Most of all they impress with the peculiar appearance of the wild cat, being compared to a miniature cougar.

Singapura Cat Diseases

Generally healthy. No known health problems.

To avoid genetic problems check the provenance.

In the case of reproduction, in some specimens, the doctor's intervention is needed to remove the offspring.

They can reproduce starting from 5-6 months, but sexual maturity is at the age of one year.

Females give birth to 2-4 cubs that they carefully care for.
