Facts
Temperament: loyal, friendly, intelligent, brave
Its name comes from the Isle of Skye, the largest island in Inner Habrides off the coast of Scotland.
Legend has it that a Spanish ship was shipwrecked near this island and the only survivor was a Maltese dog that, reaching the shore, was taken and raised by the locals. After several crossbreeding with the Scottish Terrier and Dandie Dinmont Terrier resulted in the current expemplars.
Feeding Skye Terrier
The Skye Terrier does not need much exercise, so it is important to have a well-established amount of food so that he does not become overweight. Two or three meals a day will be enough.
The amount of food depends on the dog's age, metabolic rate and activity level. It is best to feed your dog daily at the same time, if possible at about the same time.
So his stomach is taught that during that time he has to eat.
If you buy food from the store, it is good to read the label to see if the animal is getting the vitamins and minerals it needs.
