Origin

It is an ancient breed that originated more than 5,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt.

In the eighth century B. C. E. It was apparently brought from Egypt to the island of Ibiza and the southern coast of Spain where it was bred to hunt rabbits and other small animals that it chased at speeds of up to 64 km/h.

Appearance Greyhound of Ibiza

The Ibiza Greyhound is a medium to large dog, slender, muscular, with the appearance of a deer. It is a little longer than tall, has a long, wide head between the ears, a long, conical snout, large nose and Brown in color the same as the fur.

The eyes are small, almond-shaped, widely spaced and light brown in color. The ears are large, triangular, raised and very mobile. The tail is long, conical, turned at the tip, drooping.

It can have red, white color or a combination of these two colors.
