The name Gang gang ii is given by the inhabitants of those Ngunnawal or Wiradjuri territories. It is a special species because of its different appearance and special color. Due to this it was classified into a separate genus.
The loss of habitat, especially old trees, makes this species vulnerable. They are found in coastal mountain forests of South-Eastern Australia, inhabiting eucalyptus forests, especially those located along rivers and feeding on the seeds of eucalyptus and other trees, the larvae of tree cavities, the seeds of pyracantha, etc.
Feeding Parrot Gang Gang

Feed them about a third of a cup of granules and a third of a cup of fresh vegetables and fruits daily. It is also advisable to offer them 2-3 almonds, hazelnuts or macadamia nuts, daily.
Supplementing the diet with cooked meat is an important element in the case of reproductologists. Vitamin supplements are not required for birds fed with complete menus specially designed for parrots. Give them fresh branches so they always have something extra to nibble on.

In freedom, cockatoos group in pairs, in family groups or in small flocks, a social characteristic that makes them pet birds that demand much attention from their master.
Also for this reason, this type of cockatoo parrot creates strong bonds with its owner and requires a lot of training and care in order not to develop behavioral problems. Plucking feathers as a result of boredom is a common occurrence in cockatoo gang parrots who are deprived of the attention they so much need.
Although they are birds that demand a lot of attention and therefore are not birds that appeal to any person, cockatoo gang parrots are famous for their incredibly affectionate and devoted personalities.
This species of cockatoo parrots needs a dedicated master who is willing to give them attention both quantitatively and qualitatively. Also, these birds require consistent training from an early age so that their potential owners can enjoy a pet bird free of destructive and unbearable habits (excessive pecking, biting or screaming).
They are curious and like to peck at objects in their environment. Their beaks were intended for pecking trees and are very powerful. They are very destructive if they are allowed to climb on furniture and must be given toys, pieces of wood or branches of nontoxic trees to quench their need to peck.
In captivity, the cage must be at least 1m off the ground for the bird to feel safe. In freedom these parrots stay in the trees at Height most of the time. They only come to the ground to drink water.
Cockatoo gang parrots are very active and you should provide them with the largest cage that space and budget allow.
Building a sustainable Cage is very important because cockatoo gang parrots are great destroyers and can easily break the joints of a poorly constructed cage. The cage of one parrot gang gang must be at least 1.5 x 2 x 3m. it is important that the parrot can spread its wings.
Breeding Parrot Gang Gang
The optimal mating age is 4-5 years, but cockatoo gang parrots are difficult to breed in captivity. In freedom, these cockatoo parrots build their nests in tree hollows.
It is the female who chooses the place for building the nest, but both partners are involved in building it. The female usually hatches 2-3 eggs.
The incubation period is about 27-30 days. Cockatoo gang cockatoo chicks dress with plumage around the age of 8-10 weeks and can be weaned about 12-14 weeks after hatching. Both the male and the female have the responsibility of raising and protecting the offspring.
For another 4-6 weeks after dressing with feathers, the chicks are fed by the parents. Cockatoo gang parrots are difficult to breed, which is why this species is recommended only to experienced breeders. Ideally, the puppies should be raised by their parents to avoid abandonment. Diets high in protein and fat may be necessary.
Gang cockatoo parrots, like other species of cockatoo parrots, are generally resistant birds, but can be susceptible to various diseases, of which with an increased frequency have been reported the following: pica syndrome, psittacosis, ricketiosis and sarcocystosis (a lung infection).
