Fruits make up 60% to 90% of the orangutan's food, its favorites being those with sweet pulp and those that are ripe. They are consumed in such quantity because they are easy to acquire and digest.
They eat at least 317 different types of food including leaves, buds, tree bark, insects, honey, bird eggs, etc.

They can grab things with any of the four limbs. They have an arm opening of 2m.the body is large, bulky, the neck is thick, the arms are long and strong.
It has no tail. The body is covered on most of the surface with long brown-red hair. The head is large, on the face you can see flaps that increase with age.
Orangutan Behavior
Like other apes, orangutans are among the most intelligent apes. They were only noticed in the 1960s that they were using different objects.
The proof came in 1996 when, in search of food, they made a tool with which they dug inside the trees for insects.
In communication they use leaves to amplify sounds, Believing by some researchers that they want to trick the listener or make them think they are bigger.
Orangutan Breeding
Females reach maturity after about 12 years. On average, orangutans can live 35 years in the wild and about 60 in captivity.
They are more solitary than other monkeys, males and females meet only for mating. Females stay with Cubs six or seven years after birth.
Sexual dimorphism: females can grow up to 127 cm reaching the weight of 45 kg while adult males reach the height of 175 cm and over 118 kg.
The orangutan's arms are twice as long as its legs, and it can easily jump over them (over its legs) if it puts its palms together.
Face people have greater body flexibility because they have a missing ligament in the hip area. The male will try to mate prematurely with a female and will succeed if she is immature and cannot defend herself.
