Lynx is part of the group of medium-sized wild cats, belonging to the genus Lynx. The status of all Lynx slections is very varied.
Carpathian lynx, red Lynx and canadian lynx are presented by populations large enough to ensure the continuity of the species. The Iberian lynx is extinct, with only 84-143 specimens of this species still living in Spain.
Carpathian breeds live in Europe and Asia.
The entire population of this species is estimated at 55,000 individuals, most of which live in Russia. In Central European countries, along the Carpathians there is a large but threatened, isolated and unstable population of these felines.
Outside of Russia, the largest population is found in Romania, with the number of individuals reaching 2050 in 2001. Attempts have also been made to introduce laughter to Slovenia and Switzerland.
Update November 2018: in the forests of Romania live around 1200 – 1500 specimens of Lynx, about 14% of the entire population of Europe. The population is declining due to massive deforestation.
Canadian (or polar) Lynx can be found in North America, Canada and Alaska.

Shaving Food

All species of breeds are carnivorous, predatory and territorial, and their area occupies 100 to about 2000 square km, but European species have limited territory due to human activity.
They can be found mainly in forests in mountainous regions, difficult to reach, rich in Game. Breeds are able to climb, but usually hunt on the ground.
Where we see Lynx we don't find foxes or feral cats because the Lynx don't accept their company and turn them away, representing hostile behaviour towards them. They are nocturnal animals.
Their typical prey consists of various forest animals and those that live in the fields, such as mice, rabbits, deer and various species of birds.
Some also consume domestic animals, such as chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, sheep, etc.even attacking dogs when hungry or feeling threatened. It is also necrophagous when needed, although it usually buries its prey that it could not eat. Breeds move quickly and noiselessly which allows them to attack prey unexpectedly.
They can jump at a distance of 4 - 6m in any direction. Hearing and smell are very well developed. Also, like most cats, breeds can see well in the evening and at night.

Shaved Appearance

Breeds are similar in stature to dogs. They are between 70 and 150cm long with a relatively short tail, 5-25cm. The tip of the tail in all species is usually black, and at the top of the ears are tufts of black hair, which distinguishes them from other felines.
The color of the bristles is varied depending on the species and climatic conditions, varies between Chestnut and beige or even white. All breeds have white bristles on the chest and lower part of the calves.
The maximum weights are between 50 and 58 kg. Like all felines breeds have sharp retractile claws that reach 4-6 cm in length.

Breeding Shaved

The breeds mate during early spring, in March and April. Because they are solitary animals mating does not occur every year, but lasts about 2 weeks. The gestation period ends in 65-90 days, depending on the species.
2 to 4 blind Cubs are born in the first two weeks. Breastfeeding lasts relatively long, up to 6 months. The Cubs are separated from their mother when they reach the age of two in order to prepare for the first mating. It is difficult to observe a mating ritual due to various causes, the rarity of animals, the effect of intensive hunting, etc.
They live about 2 years after birth with their mother until they take their own lives. Depending on the species they live 12 to 17 years in the wild and 24 to 32 years in captivity.
